2020 THE YEAR WE STAYED AT HOME

I always write a blog post about my year and I thought this year would be no different but I was wrong! so here we are with a round up of 2020 I wanted to share this to look back on.

It started of like any other year I was still unemployed, going to volunteering and the jobcentre (not fun) we went out for a meal with some relatives in January, me and mum went to Norwich to do some shopping with our neighbour in February and in March I went to Colchester a couple of times and I last went to the jobcentre in March.

On March 23rd we got put into the first lockdown which was then extended on April 16th for another 3 weeks. Then we got put into different tier's depending on your area and in November we got put in another lockdown and then more severe tiers in December. It's been a tough year of social distancing and people still don't move!. When the first lockdown happened people were panic buying and it was ridiculous!. We now have to wear masks inside and people don't wear them properly either!.

I didn't have any job interviews this year as Covid 19 took over pretty quickly so not much happening on the job front. Things went down hill very badly as businesses shut because of lockdown and then when they could re open they couldn't so went into administration and some did open but then couldn't survive so they had to close.

I did struggle with my mental health as it was hard to just be at home as I was doing that before this but I could go out but now I can't. I miss seeing family, going out for lunch and shopping I also miss being able to pop in a shop without having to worry about social distancing, people getting in the way, wearing a mask and hand sanitising but I think that's going to be the new normal now. I do still struggle now the weather has changed as I'm not going on walks at the moment, but I hope to start again soon. I have found it hard sometimes to find things to do but I am doing okay! I survived 2020 lockdowns and I think I coped well.

I thought 2020 would be my year to get a job etc and actually move forward but I am still where I was at the beginning. It can't be helped and lockdown has helped in some ways as we've been on many walks, made things we wouldn't have normally had time for and spent more time together. I decided not to return to volunteering as it's changed again and I've lost interest.

I didn't think this situation would still be going on now but it is and we had a different Christmas which was good but still not good seeing family. 2020 has been a hard and my goals went out the window but I am trying to be positive that 2021 will be better but I haven't set goals like I did for this year but I do hope 2021 will bring me a job I've got my positive pants on! haha

It's been a bad year but there are some positives!

Walks in the nice weather in the summer
Spending even more time at home with my parents
Making/baking things
Buying things online that's become an addiction๐Ÿ˜‚
Having more pyjama/loungewear days

See you next year!

Monday 30th November 2020
I went to Lidl, took some festive photos for my Instagram, started watching trail 4 on Netflix, finished watching the big bang theory again, started watching friends because I didn't know what to watch so I put it on for sound. What I don't get is why people are putting up real Christmas trees because they don't like being indoors, so they won't survive by Christmas even with watering. They need to be outside until Christmas eve.

Tuesday 1st December 2020
My birthday month! I started posting festive things on Instagram www.instagram.com/sarahbobbeal I went for a walk, My Tim Peake space book came, and I watched friends. I re wrote a blog post and I have a blocked ear so I'm putting oil in it to help.

Friday 4th December 2020
It snowed!!! I went to Sainsbury's, took some snow photos not as good as when the last time it snowed but ah well and my Katnipp order came. My other parcel came, and I took a nap.

Tuesday 24th November 2020
I went to Sainsbury's and Lidl, I wrote some blog posts, I had a chow mien ready meal for dinner because it's easier and I watched the final of the bake off in the evening which has gone too quick! so I've no idea what I'm going to do on Tuesday evenings after this.

Wednesday 25th November 2020
I made leek, potato and cider soup, I read about the Christmas bubble rules and I don't think they're a good idea because I think people will take advantage and have loads of people round. This whole situation worries me and I feel anxious just thinking about it. I want to see my family but covid is still here but we wouldn't have lots of people over anyway but it's still scary. I had a bath, watched the big bang theory and made turkey enchiladas for dinner.

Thursday 26th November 2020
I went for a walk up the Cangle with my mum as it was sunny, we went down the town, I watched some big bang theory

WEEK 35 OF LOCKDOWN

Monday 16th November 2020
I went to Lidl and Boots to look for present ideas, I put makeup on and washed my hair. I watched music and lyrics in the evening and some YouTube. I felt a bit off today I felt like I'd wasted my day maybe because I didn't go for a walk which I try and do every day.

Tuesday 17th November 2020
I collected my Tu clothing order from Sainsbury's and my free prints finally came! I watched the space docking and hatch opening. I didn't go for a proper walk today as it was cloudy and dull, but I hope to go tomorrow! I watched the Great British Bake Off in the evening.
Wednesday 18th November 2020
I went for a walk around the housing estate and then the park as it was sunny, and my new look order came. I watched some of Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov doing a spacewalk, made ham and leek cannelloni for dinner and published a blog post on why you don't need to be busy all the time during lockdown.  I know my mum has to stay at my nan's 3 nights because she's very unwell but sometimes I don't like it and wish she was at home.

Thursday 19th November 2020
I went for a walk even though it was cloudy and cold, but I wanted fresh air, I then went to Lidl with my mum, and it was so busy, there were too many people in there and no one limiting them I felt more anxious, and I was glad to get out of there. My Superdrug order came, and I ordered some more things from them too! oops.

Friday 20th November 2020
I stayed in published a blog post, had a bath and did a face mask, a foot mask and used the Radox oil I got from Superdrug. My Etsy order came which was a silicone mould for my bath bombs and I watched some Chitty Chitty bang bang, Mary Poppins and some big bang theory.
Saturday 21st November 2020
I planned some blog posts, went to the Co-op, I went down the town after my mum had returned from my nans. We had fish and chips for lunch. I do feel a bit lethargic which I guess is to be expected as we're in lockdown and I am getting a bit fed up with it. I haven't been for many walks this week and I don't think that's helped.

Sunday 22nd November 2020
I went for a walk which helped but still feel fed up with lockdown I watched wrongly released on Sky Crime and some more big bang theory. Not much else to say today.

Thanks for reading.

THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU NEED A BREAK

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE BUSY ALL THE TIME DURING LOCKDOWN

Today's post is about how you don't need to be productive, busy or motivated during lockdown lately I've felt like I needed to be doing something all the time and when I nap I feel like oh I should have been doing this even though it's not important and napping is okay!.

A lot of people have been learning new things, getting new jobs or baking impressive things and while I've been going for walks, documenting my time on lockdown on my blog and baking not so impressive things (but tasty!) I've realised I don't need to be doing things all the time because it doesn't matter and taking a nap or a bath for a pamper is okay or just doing nothing.

Lockdown is hard for everyone, especially now we're in lockdown 2 I survived the first one as the weather as good but now it's November the weather isn't so good. I have found this year hard and that's why I'm writing this post to tell you, you don't need to be busy all the time and doing nothing is very acceptable. It has been a hard 8 months, things have changed and we've all had to adjust to this being the new normal.

I have struggled with my mental health but going for walks helps and when I don't go I feel off and not right I feel much better if I go for a walk to get fresh air. Listening to music helps when I feel down,  colouring takes my mind off things and taking photos when I go for walks makes me happy!. I think I've coped more or less okay during both lockdowns but like everyone I've had good days, some bad and some when I felt frustrated and fed up.

If you want to have a pyjama day and eat all the snacks then go ahead or if you want to binge watch a series then do it, you don't need to be motivated or productive everyday because it's unrealistic and we're in strange times.

Thanks for reading.
