This came to me last night and I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner! but anyway I'm going to share all the walks I've been on during lockdown. If you're from around here and looking for some places to walk, then this might be for you. Let me know if you go on any!
Walk along Hedingham road, then down a little road called box mill lane and then keep walking until you reach a bridge. Then go right and keep following the footpath until you reach a mud track and then walk up there until you reach a gate at the road then walk back.
Halstead Reservoir
This is up tidings hill, then keep going along the road until you get to a gate on the right that is for the angling club. Go in through the gap and up the steps and then you're at the reservoir. You can go along the footpath and through the woodland, then along the field and out on oak road.
Blue Bridge/Old Railway/Langley Mill
Walk down to Blue Bridge then go up the grass bank and follow the mud path through the trees and turn left walking alongside the old railway track through a couple of fields. Keep walking until you come to a gate go through it and turn right then you're at Langley Mill.
Walk down the town, then up chapel hill and up windmill road and then find the footpath. Walk along there and then you come to a field. You carry on along the footpath which leads to Russell's road and then keep walking until you come out at Mount Hill.
Go up tidings hill and then when you come to a gap walk that way and follow the path until you reach the road. Then go back the way you came.
Wash Barn
Walk along Hedingham road then when you get to wash barn walk up the track and then round the corner go through a gate and up the hill. You can either keep going straight on or go left and walk round the field until you come to a woodland keep walking and you come out down another track which leads to where you started.
The Cangle
Walk either up Sudbury Road and through the new housing estate being built or walk up the big hill near Pear tree close and keep following it up there. Then when you get to the top turn left and walk down until you get to the woodland and find the bridge and walk through the woods until you reach the road. Keep walking up the road until you get to a house called the Cangle. You can keep going until you reach the end of the road where this sign is which says Halstead, Colne Engaine and Pebmarsh.
Coggeshall Pieces/Nature Reserve
Walk along Sudbury Road through the new housing estate when you get to the bottom turn onto the footpath and keep walking along there. You will come to the building site for the new houses which is fenced off. You can carry on by going over the bridge and the footpath which comes out at this field you can carry on through the woodland until you reach the nature reserve, and you can walk either way back to hawthorn close.
